LATE GENERAL BOOTH
KING SENDS A MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY (Australian avd N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Tuesday. The body of the late General BramW ®H Booth is to lie in state in the Congress Hall at Clapton on Friday and Saturday. The coffin will be taken to the headquarters of the Salvation Army in Queen Victoria Street on Monday. A procession will then start for AbPark cemetery. It will traverse some of the most congested streets in [he city and may have to be curtailed. The coffin will be covered with the Salvation Army flag and a general’s cap wiil be laid on it. The widow and family have requested that no flowers be sent, as that is au Army tradition. The King has sent a message to the widow expressing his deep regret and altering his sympathy. His Majesty says: “With his father, General Bramwell Booth will always be gratefully remembered as a promoter of the widespread and beneficent activities of the Salvation Army.'* The Primate, Dr. Cosmo Lang, asked me Church Assembly to pay a tribute r ©apect to the late honoured leader ot the Army's social work.
