Pinned Under Car For Three Hours

TRAVELLER BADLY HURT FRIEND CRAWLS FOR HELP Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. Owing to a motor-car going over a bank near Waiau, a man named MacKessack, of the Waikato, received severe head injuries. His condition is serious. Another man named Burke, also from the North Island, received a fractured hip. He is progressing satisfactorily. Both men are commercial travellers for Hemp Land Bonds. The car was travelling north and, instead of taking a turn to the right, it went straight on down a sloping bank, turned over, and then fell a distance of 40 feet. The car was not visible from the road, and it was three hours before Burke could attract attention. After crawling 75 yards he managed to attract the attention of a road contractor, who helped to release MacKessack and secured assistance. Both men were taken to the Amuri Hospital.
