REINSTATEMENT OF FEDERAL OFFICIAL PENALTY ALSO REDUCED Reed. 9.25 a.m. MELBOURNE, Today. The suspension of Mr. W. C. Harvey, custodian of expropriated properties in New Guinea, and Federal Trustee, : has been removed and the penalty imposed on him by the Under-Treasurer has been reduced. The hearing of the appeal of Mr. Harvey against the decision of the Under-Secretary of the Treasury, arising out of charges of misconduct in his official position, was commenced on June 6. Appellant’s salary of £9OO a year was reduced as a penalty to £7OO after his suspension. It was from that decision he appealed.
