NORTHCOTE-BIRKENHEAD

ORPHANS’ CLUB MEETING The fortnightly meeting of the Northcote and Birkenhead Orphans’ Club was held in the Masonic Hall, Northcote, on Saturday evening, and was largely attended. Mr. V. E. Casey, vice-president of the Auckland Orphans’ Club, presided. A large number of guests were present from other clubs and were warmly welcomed by the chairman. Selections were given by the club’s orchestra and vocal items by members. The chairman announced that arrangements were being made for the annual cabaret and dance evening early next month, and invited the co-operation of all members to ensure success.
