BODY BESIDE RIVER
OPEN VERDICT RETURNED Press Association PALMERSTON N., Today. An inquest on the body of an unknown man found on the bank of the Manawatu River, following the recent flood, was held this morning at Palmerston North. Evidence was given by the police of their failure to discover the man’s identity. The coroner returned a verdict of “Found drowned.” He said the body was well dressed, and it seemed extraordinary that the man had not been missed, as he was not a human derelict.
