END OF OLD SOLDIER’S SUFFERING

WIFE'S SHOCKING DISCOVERY

(From Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, Today

A miner, John Sinclair, v/ho with his wife conducted the Naitlsiri Boarding-house, was found shot through the head in his home this morning.

Mr. Sinclair rose early, and volunteered to assist his wife in the preparation of the morning meal, but owing to his indifferent health his wife advised him to return to his room. He did so, and shortly after a muffled report was heard, and he was found with a shoe-lace tied to tjie trigger of an old single-barreled gun, the contents of which had apparently been fired through the mouth, causing instantaneous death, An inquest will be held at 3 p.m. today, before Mr. E. A. Jones, coroner. Mr. Sinclair, who was badly gassed in the Great War, was a long sufferer from that trouble. He leaves a widow and three children, the youngest seven and a-half and the eldest 14 years of age.
