BOARD’S DECISIONS AND REPORTS
Routine business was conducted at a meeting of the Auckland Transport Board today, when there were present: —Messrs. J. A. C. Allum, in the chair; E. J. Phelan, G. Ashley, J. Wood, E. H. Potter, A. J. Entrican, L. E. Rhodes, F. S. Morton, G. Baildon, and M. J. Coyle. The Auckland Bus Company was permitted to establish bus services between the city and Wolf Road, New Lynn; city and Willerton Avenue, Kelston; city and Oratia; and city and Te Atatu. The licence is issued on the same terms as formerly. It was reported that the cost of the removal of centre-poles on the tram routes was estimated to be £20,560. The question was referred to the whole committee of the board.
As the price submitted by the lowest tenderer, J. J. Craig, Ltd., for shingle and shingle sand was higher than that previously paid, it was decided to call fresh tenders. The prices submitted were 18s 9d a cubic yard for shingle and 19s lid a cubic yard for shingle sand.
