Mock Marriage and Dance for Canditate

HAMILTON FUNCTION

- To obtain funds for Miss N. ■ Valder, Claudelands queen in the II Camp Fergusson Carnival, a mock marriage had been arranged in the Alexandra Hall on Wednesday evening. Well before eight o'clock the hall was thronged with dancers and spectators, who had a very bright time and thoroughy enjoyed the laughter provoking-marriage feast. The characters were: Dean Barnacle, Dr. C. E. Brewis; the bride, Mr. Fred Swarbrick; the bridegroom, Mr. Norman k Rawson; the bridesmaid, Mr. C. Jsorris; the best man, Mr. Lance Tompkins; the bride’s parents, Mr. Hubert Hammond and Mr. P. G. Harkness; the bridegroom’s parents, Mr. Colin Taylor and Mr. G. Reed. Among those present were: Mrs. H. Valder, in a blue and geranium floral velvet gown. Mrs. G. Valder, wearing black georgette, embroidered in ivory. Mrs. J. Strang, who was in goblin blue embossed georgette. Mrs. G. R. Barnett, who had chosen a bronze georgette frock. Mrs. S. Green, in black georgette, relieved with amber. * Mrs. J. McNicol, who wore prune embossed georgette. Mrs. Clive Matthews, whose applegreen georgette frock was of uneven length. Mrs. C. E. Brewis, wearing Venetian red georgette. - Mrs. Fow, who was in black crepe de chine. Mrs. Cranwell, whose black georgette gown was embroidered with silver beads. It Mrs. G. Holden, in cameo pink tulle, with frilled skirt. Mrs. Hubert Hammond, wearing burgundy red georgette. Mrs. S. Simmons, who wore black crepe de chine. Mrs. J. D. Smith, whose handsome frock of gold lace was worn over black. Mrs. Guy Bindcn, in a frock of beige tonings. Mrs. G. Boyes, wearing phlox pink crepe de chine. Mrs. Wyn Gray, in a chic black georgette gown. Mrs. Richards, who wore a black georgette frock under a silver lame wrap.
