A NEW INDUSTRY

PROFESSIONAL fainter The West Sussex police are searching for a young man who pretends to faint in front of motor-cars driven by women. He has been operating on the lonely roads round Steyning. When a woman motorist approaches he falls in the road in front of the car. On “recovering” he tells the driver it was the reckless wayin which the car was being driven that caused a heart attack and made him faint. He threatens court proceedings unless he is paid a certain sum. The matter came to the notice of the police when it was reported to an Automobile Association patrol by a motorist who had refused the man’s demands.
