MORE MIDNIGHT FROLICS SEASON CLOSES TONIGHT “The Midnight Frolics” their way before the Auckland publk with an enjoyable new programme !■ His Majesty’s Theatre last evening With the irrepressible Clem Dawe as the funny man in a series of humoroi. sketches, the audience was kept ln continual good humour. “Black and White Cargo,” a burlesque on the famous “White Cargo • was delicious, the cold-blooded calculation of the dusky heroine, “Fond-ai-Ello ” bringing a screaming farce to aif unexpected conclusion. A feature of the programme was the first appearance of Miss Gwenth Ma!Xaugliton, who drew well-merited applause for her performance of a Russian dance. Miss Mona Magnet w?v her usual versatile self in sketches and songs, while Gregory Ivanoff won approval with his violin. Eric Edgelv was responsible for lots of the corned'. Clem Dawe, as a wireless set, kepi the house in convulsions, while his “Frothblower” impersonation wherein he spoke of the “rights” of the British working man, was delightful. The company will conclude its Auckland season this evening, -when a special request programme will be staged. It will comprise all the best and latest in popular sketches, songs, dances! novelties and jazz numbers. The programme will include “Black and Whit a Cargo,” “Atmospherics,” “Horsey, Keep Your Tail Up,” “The Man Down th& Hole,” and, for the last time, Clem Dawe will conduct the jazz band in “Poet and Peasant.” Mona Magnet and Dorothy White will present corr successes, and Gregory Ivanoff will produce his most popular violin solos. Miss Gwenth MacNaughton will als, appear. Messrs. Perryman, Les Whit:. Dick White and Oscar Beck will appear for the last time.
