TE KUITI NEWS
There was a large attendance at the Municipal Hall, Te Kuiti, on Wednesday evening, when a most enjoyable concert, under the auspices of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church was held. A varied programme was presented and met with an appreciative hearing. The proceedings opened with two popular choruses, in which the audience joined. The following items were given: Song, “Maiden of Morven,” Mr. J. Saunders; song, “Song of the Khyberee,” Mr. C. M. Bathgate; song, “The Love Pipes ofe June,” Mrs. Ormsby; duet, “Go Down to Kew,” Miss Hanchet; duet, “Nocturne,” Mesdames Bathgate and Ormsby.’ songs, “The Market” and “Melisande in the Wood,” Miss Wood: banjo solo, Mr. J. J. McLeod; saxophone §olo, Mr. P. O’Rourke; concertina solo, “The Deathless Army,” and imitation church bells and organ, Mr. T. Hislop: monologue, “The Little Tan Shoes,” Miss Raley; recitations, “A Love Poem,” and “Scottish Names,” Mr. F. S. Duncanson. Miss Ivy Gra*ham acted as accompanist.. Mr. A. TP. B. Small, of the staff of the Te Kuiti branch of the Bank of New Zealand, left for Auckland on Thursday en route for Samoa, where he will take over the management of the branch of the Bank of New Zealand.
Before leaving - , Mr. Small was the recipient from members of the staff of ! the bank of a handsome gold pencil. The presentation was made by Mr. Passau. who tendered best wishes for j Mr. Small's future success in his new | sphere of activity.
