NO APPARENT REASON
LABOURER’S OBSCENE LANGUAGE “There was no apparent reason for him to use this language, as he did, to a stranger,” remarked Sub-Inspector McCarthy when Alma G. Hutchins was charged at the Police Court this morning with using obscene language. Mr. McLiver appeared for Hutchins and entered a plea of guilty. He explained that his client had suffered an attack of influenza and had taken some drink in consequence. He was a respectable married man. The sub-inspector agreed that the man was under the influence of liquor and a fine of £2, in default seven days’ imprisonment, was imposed.
