MAJESTIC

“KITTY” DRAWS CROWDS Record crowds during: the past few days have been drawn to see “Kitty” at the Majestic Theatre. This film was adapted from the famous novel of the same name by Warwick: Deeping 1 , well- j known as the author of “Sorrell and Son.” Charming little Estelle Brody has the leading feminine role, that of “Kitty,” the girl, with John Stuart and Dorothy Cummings playing the other two leading roles. “Kitty” will be shown for three more days. On the bright supporting programme there is a comedy, an Eve's Review, and a Majestic Magazine. On the musical side there are new musical selections by Mr. Whiteford Waugh’s Majestic Orchestra, and a number of pieces by Reno and Arta expert xylophone players. The chief picture on the Majestic’s programme for Friday will be “Strong Boy,” starring Victor McLaglen. “Strong Boy” is a bustling, strongarmed love comedy that teems with life, tingles with humour, and presents the star of “What Price Glory?” in his sunniest vein. McLaglen is cast as a baggage-room Romeo who finds himself in a trunkful of trouble when a baby, a monkey and a rope of pearls get tangled up in his domain. If the start is hectic, the finish is more so, for “Strong Boy” concludes with a thrilling train robbery that mixes laughs with villainy. A charming love story of a girl’s successful attempt to fire her sweetheart with ambition is skilfully entwined with farcical adventures that will tickle your sense of the ridiculous ; Lovely Leatrice Joy is McLaglen’s little lady. The second picture on the new programme will be “The Ringer,” a pieturisation of Edgar Wallace’s popular story. LECTURES ON EVOLUTION The last of the three public lectures on different scientific aspects of evolution will be delivered in the University College Hall this evening. The speaker will be Professor Bartrum, M.Sc., professor of geology. Admission is free and the public is invited to attend.
