Permission wa§ given the Manukau Rovers Football Club to make an entrance charge to the recreation reserve for a football match on June 15. A donation of £5 was made to the Onehunga branch of the Plunket Society.
An application was made by the Auckland Harbour Hoard for payment of £SO. balance due on account of a promise made by the ex-Mayor toward the reconstruction of Cornwallis Wharf. The question was referred to the council in committee. In reference to a proposed loan for the relief of unemployed, Cr. J. Pil-
kington pointed out that the council in committee liud decided to -earmark £2,ooo_out of revenue and add it to the £5.000 to be raised by loan, and then ask the Government for a £ for £ subsidy on £7.000. making the total amount to be spent £ 14.000. The Mayor agreed that this was the intention of the committee.
