WOULD NOT PAY FARE
CANTANKEROUS PASSENGER ON TRAM Being in what Sub-Inspector McCarthy described at the Police Court this morning as a cantankerous mood, Harry Carr decided not to pay his fare in a tramcar yesterday. QARR, a labourer aged 40, v.-as charged with being found drunk m Khyber Pass and failing to pay his tram fare. He did not appear, and the sub-inspector mentioned that he bad b .? en bailed out in the sum of ?“ The man bad had too much drink, observed the sub-inspector. He paid a twopenny fare but refused to get off the tram or pay any further fare, although he had plenty of money with him.” Carr was fined £1 for drunkenness and ordered to pay costs, including witnesses’ expenses, 10s, on the second charge.
