QUESTION OF LIABILITY FINANCE COMPANY SUES Press Association CHRISTCHURCH, Today. An involved case concerning the liability under promissory notes camo before Mr. Justice Adams today, when the Mercantile Finance Corporation of Christchurch sued Francis and Tayler, Ltd., in liquidation, motor salesmen, of Dunedin, and Norman Leslie Emms motor service proprietor, of Blenheim The corporation claimed from Emms £399, the amount of a promissory note due on December 6, 1927, and from Francis and Tayler £1,996. Plaintiff company stated that it had advanced Francis and Tayler £2,018 in 1927, the firm assigning a hirepurchase agreement. The defence was a denial. The case is proceeding.
