COAL-MINE STRIKE
700 MORE MEN MADE IDLE IN N.S.W. RESULT WILL BE SERIOUS Recti. 10.30 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. A strike at two southern coal mines has rendered 700 men idle. At Scarborough, the stoppage was due to the manager’s refusal of the miners’ request to reinstate a man who had walked off the job, while at Dapto the trouble arose out of the miners’ refusal to work an extra night shift. The result of these strikes will be serious for the Northern Colliery men, for whom the miners at work are levied 12J per cent.
