NO DAIRY RETURNS

AUCKLAND FIGURES NOT TO BE PUBLISHED VALUE TO SPECULATORS In the past returns of the butter and cheese graded at. the port of Auckland have been made available for publication at regular intervals. Such returns have provided an indication of the progress of the industry, and have been welcomed by all sections of the community. To the business and commercial man, they have particular interest, in the fact that they provided a register of the prosperity of the province. The Auckland Farmers’ Freezing Company announces that It has decided not to release any further returns. This decision was arrived at as a result of representations from the dairy companies of the province. One of the reasons given is that such information, broadcast in the Press, proved valuable to speculative and competitive interests, and did not make for uniformity in prices. It is understood that an endeavour is to be made to have the issuing of Government returns suppressed.
