JUDGMENT ATTACKED
DISPUTE OVER SALE OF LAUNCH The abandonment of the motorlaunch Ika, owing to engine trouble during a storm, its subsequent salvage and sale, was recalled by an appeal heard by Mr. Justice Kennedy in the Supreme Court yesterday. Harold Alfred Norman Blackburn, saddler, of Matamata (Mr. Quartley), Appealed against the decision of Mr. J. Luxford. S.M.. in awarding £79 to Cyril Ledger, fisherman, of Whangarei (Mr. Trimmer), and £2S to a man named Buchan, the other two partowners. out of the proceeds of the sale of the vessel, which was sold under Blackburn's instructions after salvage. Blackburn had a third share in the vessel. having advanced money to Ledger *nd Buchan to purchase a third share each.
After hearing legal argument, his Honour reserved his decision.
