PLUNKET WORK IN THAMES
Eighty per cent, of the babies born tinder the auspices of the Thames Plunket Society during the past year have been naturally fed, so reports Nurse AT. Johnstone in her annual report. Some idea of the magnitude of the Plunket nurse’s work can be gauged from the statement that she attended 3,899 patients at her rooms during the 12 months, and also visited 1.441 homes and attended to 156 new babies. Following are the figures of the different places: Visits to rooms—Thames: 2,330; Waitakaruru: 291: Xgatea: 576; Turua: 387; Iverepeehi: 315. Visits to homes—Thames: 775; new* babies: 88; Waitakaruru: 279: new* babies: 21; Xgatea: 104: new babies: 19; Turua: 190; new babies: IS; Kerepeehi: 90; new* babies: 10.
