THREE MEN INJURED

MOTOR-CYCLE STRIKES CAR

ALL IN ONE MACHINE

Three young men were hurt when the motor-cycle on which they were all riding collided with a service-car on the Glenfield Road, near Albany, about nine o’clock on Saturday evening. The three were Joseph Blackledge, a carpenter, of Stafford Road, Northcote; Charles Neads, an agent, of Hauraki Street, Birkenhead, and Allan Ryan, a labourer, of Clarence Street, Northcote. Ryan was sitting between the other two on the machine, and as they were turning Gooch’s Corner the lights suddenly failed and the cycle crashed into a service-car driven by Mr. James Waller, of Albany-. The three men were thrown on to the road, Ryan receiving cuts on his head and right arm. Neither of the other two was badly hurt, and Ryan was sent to the Auckland Hospital, where his condition is reported to be satisfactory. The motor-cycle struck the car a glancing blow, neither of the vehicles being damaged.
