LESS UNEMPLOYMENT

MORE MEN PLACED IN WORK j j A decrease in the number of unemployed registered with the Government Labour Bureau is shown by figures supplied this morning, and in addition more men have been placed in work. A total of 1,129 men arc registered, compared with 1,152 last week. Of this week’s total 939 men are classed as fit for heavy work and 160 for light work only. The figures for the preceding week were 1,003 and 149 respectively. During the past week 107 men were placed in employment, compared with SS for the week ending May 18.
