WAITOMO POWER BOARD
NEW MEMBER ELECTED CHAIRMAN The first meeting of the newlyelected Waitomo Power Board was held at Te Kuiti on Monday, thos« present being Messrs. Lee. Boddie. Blackman, Simms, Gorton. Carroll and Irvine, also Mr. V. D. Wisnesky (secretary) and Mr. X. A. Davidson (engineer). The new Otorohanga representative Mr. Simms, was appointed chairman after a secret ballot, the late chairman. Mr. IV. A. Lee. being the other nominee for the position. The secretary reported a total revenue for April of £991 19s Id. His recommendation that permission be obtained to raise the 10 per cent, additional on the £20,000 1927 building and construction loan was adopted. The cost of erection of a supply-line to Whawharua would amount to £1,500, and the ten prospective consumers would have to guarantee a sum of £ 300 each. It was decided that with a view to forming a special rating area a meeting be held, and a committee appointed to investigate. The estimates for the year ending March 31, 1930, contained the following; Estimated income, £17,750; expenditure, £16,340; an estimated surplus of £1.410, without allowing for depreciation.
