Friday From the Oral Zeppelin, which lei Friedrichshaven early on Thursday morning on her second iran-ailan, c flight, and which developed serious engine trouble. Hr. Hugo Evken*-' wirelessed that lie intended trying to land at Valence, 57 miles south of Lyons, in France. The messages indicated that seriou damage occurred in the airship, cam iug considerable alarm. The French authorities at Valem. wirelessed that the Zeppelin arrived and apparently stopped her engint - and driftd away to the south-east before a stiff wind. She was seen later over Saillans palpably in difficulties, turning about and apparently unable to resist th* wind that was driving southward at 20 miles an hour. The Australian explorer. Sir Hubert Wilkins, who is aboard, wirelessed to the ‘Evening Standard” that there was no danger and that all were cheerful. The fuel is estimated to last a week, which is comforting all aboard. The latest from Berlin says a third motor is now amiss. The airship is doing only 8J miles an hour. There is some pessimism in the German capital and official circles are anxious A later message says the Zeppelin landed at Cuers, 11 miles north-east of Toulon. The trouble was due to breaks in the driving shafts.
