MOORISH TREACHERY

THREE FRENCHMEN KILLED BY TRIBESMEN CAME WITH WHITE FLAG Times Cable. IvONDON, Thursday. The Paris correspondent of “The Times” says a new advanced post in the Upper Ziz region of Morocco was attacked by 300 tribesmen. The French advanced to the post in April in order to counteract the influence of an agitator who had been terrorising the district for a time. Everything was quiet when parties of tribesmen approached preceded by a man carrying a white flag. It was believed they intended to offer their submission. Suddenly the tribesmen opened fire, killing three of the French troops and wounding nine. The attackers were quickly driven back, losing 14 killed. They were then pursued in airplanes. The sharp reverse inflicted upon the force has deeply impressed the other tribes.
