ULIMAROA FROM SYDNEY
DELAYED BY WEATHER A CCORDING to a radio message • i -*- received by the local office of Huddart-Parker, Ltd., the intercolonial passenger steamer Ulimaroa has been delayed by bad weather, and she will probably arrive at Auckland on Wednesday. The vessel is en route from Sydney and was originally scheduled to reach here tomorrow.
Late Turf — TROTTING DATES COUNTRY CLUBS’ APPREHENSION LABOUR DAY PERMIT (From Our Own Correspondent J HAMILTON, Today. Mr. Lee Martin, the member for Raglan, has wired the Minister of Internal Affairs, protesting against the application of the Auckland Trotting Club for a Labour Day meeting. He added that country racing clubs viewed with apprehension the tendency of town clubs to annexe all the holiday dates. (Last year the Whangarei Trotting Club, after being forced to look for a fresh date, decided on Labour Day, and consequently the fixture proved a huge success. The club intended to make this the regular date for its ; annual trotting function.)
