SHEEP DOG TRIALS
FIXTURE AT TE KUITI TE KUITI, Saturday. The annual trials of the Te Kuiti Collie Club were held at Te Ruito and proved a successful fixture. Mr. A. Bellamy acted as judge and commented very favourably on the performance of all the dogs competing, all of which showed distinct merit. The double heading event introduced for the first time was quite spectacular, 22 out of 24 dogs completing the trial. In the Huntaway Class Miss M. Long's Sandy took second place. The results -were as follow: Long Head <3O points!.—F. King's Hope, 44 points, 1; U. Neal's Mack, 41’ points. 2; H. Voyce's Boy, 41 points, 3. Driving Through Maltese Cross and Yarding (54 points).—ss. Voyce's Maid, 47 points, 1 ; J. Dunpliy’s Ben, 46 points, 2; H. J. Ritchie’s Tweed, 44 points, 3. Short Head and Drive (GO points).—S. Voyce's Maid, 55 points, 1; J. H. Richards’s Flirt, 53 points, 2; I). Neal's Mack, 52 pointes, 3. Huntaway (15 points).—D. Neal’s Sandy, 43 points, 1; Miss M. Long's Sandy, 40 points, 2; J. Dalziel’s Taipo, 20 points, 3. At the conclusion of the trials the Collie Club’s annual smoke concert was held in Cowper’s room, the president, Mr. I. Hunt, presiding.
