A message from the scientists at Alor Star, in Kedah, Malay Peninsula, states that for one hour before the eclipse today the sun was constantly concealed by passing clouds. These conditions threatened to make a fail* Ur ® of the observations, th ° Wever * D r * or to th© eclipse, sun pierced the clouds and almost Berfect results were obtained. Except for a slight haze the corona 48 beautifully displayed.
