NEW ZEALANDER KILLED
ENGINEROOM FATALITY ON STEAMER DEATH INSTANTANEOUS (United Service) SHANGHAI, Thursday. Mr. E. Kakle, of New Zealand, an engineer on the steamer Carnarvonshire, was killed this morning. lie was inspecting the boilers when a stop-valve blew out, filling the engine room with steam. The steam did not clear for an hour and then Mr. Kakle’s body was found on top of a boiler. It is believed that his death was instantaneous.
