FAILURE TO PAY FEES
CONVICTIONS AGAINST 11 COMPANIES - FINES TOTAL £37 10 - Failure to pay their annual licence fees resuletd in convictions being recorded against 11 companies in the Police Court this morning,, The fines imposed totalled £37 10s. f T'HIS is the second batch of a num- •*" ber of prosecutions brought by the Assistant-Commissioner of Stamp Duties. Fifteen companies were penalised last Fridajr. ‘•Despite the fact that year by year there is quite a number of these prosecutions, firms still neglect to pay their licence fees up to time,” observed Mr. W. ID. Ward, who appeared for the Crown. ‘’Two notices aresent to every company before any action is taken.” Following is the list of fines imposed. The annual licence fee payable is in parentheses:—Suburban Hornes and Investment Co., Ltd. (£l2 10s), £10; Gee and Sons, Ltd. (£4), £5: -Arctic Furs, Ltd. (£3 2s), £5; J. C. Buchanan. Ltd. (£1 10s), £4: Fairweathers, Ltd. (£1 15s), £4: Brinkman and Co., Ltd. (£1), £3; Paterson and Hart, Ltd. (16s), £2: Kopaki Saleyards Co., Ltd. (10s), £1 10s; Homai Builders, Ltd. (10s), £1 10s; Homai Estates, Ltd. (6s), £1; F. Graham Jackson (Ltd., (Is), 10s.
