DIED ON ROADSIDE
FATAL ACCIDENT TO MAORI POUCE INVESTIGATING With the left side of his head and body badly smashed, Samuel Walker, a Maori was found seriously injured lying at Patumahoe on the road leading to Pukekohe last evening. He died soon afterwards. A cycle was found lying alongside him. It was smashed to pieces, and it is surmised he was run down by a motor-car travelling in the same direction as he was going. Sergeant Cowan, of Pukekohe, went out with Dr. Begg and discovered the Maori to be dead. Detective-Sergeant Bickerdike went down to investigate this morning. No motorist has yet reported an accident.
