Won by a neck, the third horse three lengths away. The placed horses were trained respectively by F. Leader, R. W. Colling and M. Peacock. A feature of this time-honoured handicap race is that the owners of the placed horses each receives a £5 champion Chester cheese. Among the entries for yesterday’s race was Easter Hero, who finished second in the Grand National a few weeks earlier. Like that race, and the Lincolnshire Handicap, yesterday’s winner was owned by a woman.
