TE AWAMUTU BRANCH Mrs. H. de Lacy Peake presided over a splendid attendance of members at the ninth annual meeting: of the Te Awamutu branch of the Plunket Society on Monday. The annual report was read and adopted, and the following officers were elected: —Patron. Mrs. C. G. Downs; president, Mrs. Peake; vice-president, Mrs. H. Y. Collins; committee. Mesdames C. F. Oliphant, S. A. Empson and J. G. Wynyard. Mr. D. Bockett was re-appointed lion, auditor. The secretary of the Ohaupo subbranch reported that the following officers . were elected:—President, Mr. S- Reid: vice-presidents, Messrs. E. J. Edwards, J. Anderson, H. Dingle and A. P. Storey; committee. Mesdames E. J. Edwards. Titmarsli, Sanson, Karl, Norton. TurnwaW, Dingle. Beech ev. F. Gillett, Ryburn. TV. Smith. Burnie, Alf. Karl, K. Reid, Tapp and C. K. Edwards, hon. secretary. The nurse reported for the year: Te Awamutu branch: New cases. 230; babies, 104; mothers. 103; expectant mothers, 23; visits to homes. 647; visits to ' the rooms, adults, 1.587: babies. I. older children, 265: making ; total of 3,873. In addition there were 265 telephone calls. Ohaupo sub-branch: There were 18 new cases; 8 babies, S mothers and two expectant mothers: visits to the rooms by adults numbered 176: by babies, 140; and by older children, 45. There were 27 telephone rings. The nurse also reported that during the year she had made 49 visits to Ohaupo, 27 to Kiliikihi, 21 to Te Kawa. 13 to Te Mawhai, five to Mangapiko and one to Hairini. In the same period 2671 b of kariol. or Plunket emulsion, had been sold, also 1.1041 b of karilao.
The financial statement showed cash in the bank £558 12s 3d: total assets. £5»3 Os 2d.
