THE REST AT BLANDFORD PARK TO-NIGHT The fascination of floodlight football at the brilliantly illuminated Blandford Park Stadium is drawing increased attendances each week, and last Wednesday evening a crowd of 2,000 enjoyed the thrilling spectacle. In view of Wellington’s early challenge for an F.A. Trophy match, the sole selector, Mr. Phil Neesham, is busy trying out his possibles for representative honours this season, and a specially attractive match has been arranged for this evening, when the pick of the Scottish players will meet those from the rest of the world. The Scots are proud of their pioneering work in the nursery of scientific Soccer, and are keen to uphold their national reputation as masters of the code. The Rest includes some New Zealand-born, with others from England. Wales, Africa and Australia. There are six Auckland reps in the Scottish side, and eight in the ranks of the Rest, while the other players are keen contenders for rep. honours. A fast and clever match should result, as the turf is in ideal condition for scientific; football. A curtainraiser will tie played between fourth grade teams from the Shore and Tamaki.
