ASSASSINS AT KOVNO

SEVEN SHOTS FIRED AT PREMIER AIDE-DE-CAMP KILLED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) LONDON, Monday. A despatch from Kovno, Lithuania, states that a determined attempt was made to assassinate the Premier, Dr. Voldemaras. Three assailants hid in a garden opposite the State Theatre. They fired seven shots at the Premier and his party as they were alighting from a motor-car in order to attend a concert. The bullets missed Dr. Voldemaras. but one killed his aide-de-camp. M. Gudinas. Others seriously wounded the Premier's foster-son and Miss Jodinaite.

The assailants escaped amid the con fusion which followed the shooting.
