200,000 WORKERS TO BE IDLE (Australian and N.Z. Press Association) (United Service) Reed. 10.20 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The Federation of Master Cotton Spinners’ Associations at Manchester decided to close down the mills from May 18 until the end of the card-room operatives' strike at the Alma Mills, Oldham, affecting 200,000 operatives and 560 mills.
