KEEN TONE MAINTAINED (Australian and N.Z. Press Association > Reed. 9.25 p.m. LONDON, Frida. At the wool sales 10,083 bales were offered, of which 5,789 were New Zealand. There was a limited selection of Merinos,’ principally good-style wools, and a moderate offering of greasy crossbreds. There was a good catalogue of slipes. The tone continues keen, despite some withdrawals. Prices are unchanged. New Zealand: Titi, 17d top price, 16d average; Maka, 184, 16d.
FEILDING STOCK SALE
Press Association FEILDING, Friday. Between 4,000 and 5,000 sheep were yarded at the stock sale to-day. There was a large attendance of buyers, and keen interest was taken in the sale. The fat sheep pens were unusually well filled. Prices were:—Fat lambs: White-face, 21s to 22s lOd; black-face, 22s to 275; woolly lambs, 355; a line of black-face lambs exhibited in the Young Farmers’ Club Show, 37s 6d; fat maiden ewes, 3Ss 3d to 38s; .other fat ewes, 22s 6d to 27s 6d; fat wethers, black-face. 30s 6d to 32s lOd; others, 31s 7d; extra prime Down wethers, show quality, 42s and 435; store wether lambs, 21s Od; Romney wether lambs, 21s Id; special entry of two-tooth ewes running with Southdown rams, 42s j Sd; four and five-year ewes, 30s 6d; sound-mouth ewes, 23s 9d to 29s lOd; I two-tooth wethers, 31s; woolly black-fade lambs, 18s 3d; wether lambs, 21s to 23s lOd. Cattle: Dairy cows at profit, £l2; cows in milk, £5 to £7 ss; Holstein cows, £4 Is; weaner heifers, £4; empty store cows £5 15s; forward cows, £4 7s 6d; weaner heifers, £2 15s; steers, £9 ss; heifers in calf, £7 15s; four and fiveyear Shorthorn bullocks, to £lO 12s; others, £7; fat Jersey cows, £5 17s 6d to £7 15s; other colours, £5 5s to £7 2s 6d; fat Jersey heifers, £6 15s; Shorthorn bullocks, £ll 15s.
