ST. BARNABAS CHURCH

PAST YEAR’S WORK Parishioners of St. Barnabas, Mount Eden, held their annual meeting this week. The vicar, the Rev. E. E. Bamford, presided. Satisfactory progress in all departments of church life during the past year was indicated by the churchwardens’ report. It also contained appreciative reference to the service performed by various workers. The financial statement showed a credit balance of £l3 6s 3d and the church building and hall renovation funds stood at £2,153 1s 11d and £383 7s 8d respectively. Mr. E. Yates, who retired after 33 years’ service as a vestryman, was accorded a vote of appreciation. The following officers were appointed : Vicar’s warden, Mr. W. M. Rayner ; people’s warden, Mr. S. Harris; vestry, Messrs. E. B. Bambury, F. Edwards, .T. Evans, A. J. Fielder, B. C. Housley, H. C. Robinson, C. E. Spittal, S. von Stunner, J. T. Williams and T. H. Wright : synodsmen. Messrs. W. M. Rayner and H. C. Robinson.
