TAKAPUNA ELECTION

CANDIDATE DISPLACED RESULT OF OFFICIAL COUNT As a result of the official count an alteration has been made in the personnel of the new Takapuna Council. When the official count was made it was found that Mr. C. P. Lock, who •stood 13 votes above Mr. J. Guiniven, the lowest among the successful candidates at the preliminary count, had dropped back to the unsuccessful ranks, and that Mr. J. Powell, who had appeared to be rejected, was not only returned, but was placed ahead of two other candidates who were elected. He htd failed to receive credit for 79 votes cast in his favour through a miscount at one of the booths.
