SENTRY DISAPPEARS

BUCKINGHAM PALACE MYSTERY RIFLE FOUND IN PARK (United Service) LONDON, Wednesday. Scotland Yard detectives and the military authorities are investigating the disappearance from Buckingham Palace of a sentry of the Scots Guards, whose absence a patrolling policeman reported at 3 a.m. Tlie precincts of the Palace were unavailingly searched until daylight. A busby and a rifle were found in Green Park, 200 yards from the Palace, hut the bayonet is still missing. The “Daily Mail” says that the disappearance of a sentry from his post while on guard at the Palace is unparalleled in the history of the Army.
