SORDID TALE IN COURT GAOL FOR COMPANION Press Association WELLINGTON, Wednesday. Jeau Evelyn Larsen, aged 17. and Percy Clarke, alias Lamonte, aged 25, who were found sleeping in an empty house in Moir Street, Wellington, were to-day charged with being there without lawful excuse. Clarke has a record for theft, breaking and entering and theft, and a breach of the peace. It was stated that the girl had been knocking round North Island towns for the past nine months, and until recently was living with a man as his wife. Her mother was living with a man at Hastings, and her father was resident at Dunedin. She was convicted, ordered to come up for sentence, and to remain at the Salvation Army Home until her child was born. Clarke was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment with hard labour.
