FAREWELL TO HUNTLY VICAR
The friends of the Rev. J. W. Robinson, vicar of tho Anglican Church, who has retired through failing health, tendered him a farewell on Monday evening. In presenting Mr. Robinson with a well-filled w'allet of notes for himself and a copper fire-screen for Mrs. Robinson, Mr. Fred Harris referred to the strenuous work done by the vicar and said that three men would find plenty to do in the large area to be covered. Mr. A. 11. Waring, Taupiri. supported the previous speaker, and in his reply Mr. Robinson thanked parishioners and friends for their consideration and assistance. During the evening a vocal solo was given by Miss Hall, William Shaw (violin solo), while Master Edgar Housley proved an efficient accompanist. An advertising competition resulted in Miss Meadows being returned the winner. Games and musical items added to a pleasant evening. Mr. Robinson’s successor, the Rev. C. J. Bush-King, for whom the former bespoke a warm welcome, will be instituted to the new charge on May 8 by the Bishop of Waikato.
