CRIMINAL SESSION
OPENS ON MAY 7 UNUSUALLY LIGHT LIST The criminal list set down for hearing at the next session of the Supreme Court in Auckland, commencing on May 7, is considerably lighter than usual. Three charges of negligently driving cars, thereby causing death, will be heard, the balance of the cases mostly concerning sexual charges. So far only 11 cases are set down on the list. The following accused will appear to answer the following charges: Hira Eruera, carnal knowledge. Robert White Lanier, assault, causing actual bodily harm. Roy Gordon Capel and William Gibson, rape. Alexander Paton, indecent assault on a female. Edward Howell, indecent assault on a female. Edward Russell Everett, assault with intention to commit rape. Peter Howie, indecent assault on a girl under 16. Hector Robert Sommerville, negligent driving, causing death. John Elliott, negligent driving, causing death. Bertram A. O’Connor, assault, causing bodily harm, obscene language and indecent assault on a female. Oliver Godfrey, negligent driving, causing death.
