CAR STRIKES CENTRE-POLE

When a car crashed into a tramway centre poll in Parnell Road, near the top of St. Stephen's Avenue, on Saturday evening the driver, the only occupant, Mr. Henry Donald, of 19 Selkirk Road, Mount Albert, received a broken thigh and cuts on his face. His car was badly damaged, one front wheel being broken and the front spring and bumper twisted. The engine was also damaged.
