HANDLING BENZINE

DEMONSTRATION TO PUPILS Takapuna Grammar senool pupils had demonstrated to them on Saturday the processes necessary for the handling of benzine in bulk. The demonstration was at the Atlantic .Union Company's depot in Freeman's Bay, and the party was conducted over the plant by the superintendent, Mr. J. S. Black, and his assistant, Mr. W. Potter. The processes were explained to the visitors. Particular interest was shown in the precautions against fire, notably the “foamite” plant, which smothers burning petrol. Mr. I. S. McHarg, in chargt of the . party, conveyed their thanks to the management.
