LAUDER FOR TALKIES
Sir Harry Lauder announced definitely from the stage at His Majesty’s Theatre last evening that he would shortly go into the talkies. His explanation was that he could not reach the same number of people on the ordinary stage, and as the talkies had come to stay he had decided to be heard and seen in them. “This probably will be the last opportunity of seeing me on the stage,” he told his audience.
