FURTHER INCREASE

UNEMPLOYMENT IN AUCKLAND A further increase, in unemployment is recorded according- to the Labour Department’s figures supplied this morning, the total number registered being 1.074 compared with 1,055 last week. Of this week’s total 918 men are classed as fit for heavy work, compared with 887 last week, and 156 for light work as against 168. During the week 67 men were placed in work, compared with 86 for the week ending April 20.
