WAIKATO HUNT CLUB
PAST SEASON REVIEWED Press Association CAMBRIDGE, To-day. At the annual meeting of the Waikato Hunt Club held last evening, Mr. Wynn Brown, master of the hunt, presided over* an attendance of 40 members. The balance sheet showed the hunting account with a credit of £546 14s 6d. while assets totalled over £3,000. The farm account was in debit £3OO 18s lOd at March 31 last, but purchases had been made, and assets exceeded liabilities by £lB9 11s 7d. A profit of £217 12s was made on the last hunt race meeting. Speaking on the balance sheet, the chairman said the small profit on the race meeting was due to wet weather. Small profit might mean a reduction in stakes, but that might be a wise step, as the present stakes were too high. Mr. Harold Winsor, speaking on the hunt farm, said no doubt it was paving well. It was resolved that the committee consider the eligibility of horses competing at point-to-point meetings. A recommendation was made that the maiden steeplechase be retained on the race programme. It was also recommended that the stakes be reduced for the next race meeting.
