HUNTLY ANGLICANS

SUPPORT FOR BISHOP (From Our Own Correspondent) HUNTLY, To-day. That Bishop Cherrington is not altogether looked oh with disfavour by his Huntly and Ngaruawahia parishioners was indicated on Wednesday evening, when the annual meeting of the Huntly. Taupiri and Ngaruawahia Anglicans took place. The Rev. J. W. Robinson, vicar, presided over a record attendance and in his report stressed the loyalty of the parishioners to their bishop . and emphasised the harmonious relations in the Huntly-Ngaruawahia portion of the diocese, despite differences in other parts. The election of two synodsmen caused much interest. The present members, Messrs. F. Harris and K. c’oldwell, are both members of the Standing Committee, the former being also chairman of committees, and are both adherents of the Bishop of Waikato. Air. Harris was returned by an overwhelming majority, with Air. K. Coldwell in second place, with Air. A. Gerring, Ngaruawahia, -third. Other officers were elected as follow; —Vicar’s warden, Air. Ben Housley; people’s warden, Mr. Thomas Fletcher; vestry', Mesdames S. P. Crimmins and K. Coldwell, Alessrs. A. Shead, G. Baber, W. H. Bailey, F. Harris and Iv. Coldwell; representative on Rural Deanery Board and Archdeaconry Board, Alessrs. A. H. Waring (Taupiri), and A. Gerring (Ngaruawahia).
