HORSE BOLTS WITH RIDER

BOY BADLY INJURED BY FALL Thrown from a bolting horse, Willim Griffith, aged 16, received severe concussion of the brain and head injuries yesterday afternoon. The accident occurred in Station Road, Otahuhu. Something frightened the horse and it bolted furiously. Griffith managed to ride him for a short distance but was soon thrown, striking his head on the road with great force. The St. John Ambulance was called and he was rushed into the Auckland Hospital, where he was operated on last evening. This morning his condition was reported to be slightly improved.
